A lot darker and more subtle than most of my pictures, I think, but I hope you like it. I actually turned the clarity down in Adobe Camera RAW for this one, to accentuate the late afternoon softness of the light.

Warm darkness by ~kimonokraken Talk about a moody photograph, and one that really leads the eye, this has it! The detail in this shot is just outstanding and it showcases wonderfully how the Photography>APN gallery also crosses into other galleries as well, such as the one this one is in, Country Life. I just love the light in this shot too, really well captured. (Featured by ^kkart)

Beautiful! I agree, nice light! :)

Beautiful colours and use of light. And great composition. The person at the end of the lane just makes this image for me; adds a human dimension and a sense of scale.

Thanks very much! And thanks for the detail in the compliment. It was pretty lucky having that person come into view just in time!

What really makes me pleased with this image is that the light and colours make me think of the woodland pictures of Marc Adamus, who I kind of worship. :D

You're welcome! And I can see the Adamus connection in your image.

You might want to check out the landscapes of this guy on DA [link] He does some great work, and takes time to explain what he has done and shares his technical info, which is really helpful and generous.

Peace :meditation:

I agree with probably anyone else who views this. The soft and subtle lighting is AMAZING. The scene chosen is nice, but it's the light that pushes this far beyond a typical photo.

The focal point of the small figure, not quite large enough to tell a whole story, leaves me to make up who it may be and why he (or she?) may be walking through such a magical scene. And the second area that draws my attention is that marvelous tree! The twisting line of that branch, and the textures accentuated by the light. Simply wonderful.

Very well composed and taken photo - your sense of light and mood is perfect. Lovely scene with just a touch of mystery, suspense.

Subtle is good. A point too often lost in the saturation-fest that is dA ;)

I concur! I can end up going a little too saturated sometimes perhaps, but some of the stuff on here is just ridiculous - like the world was made of neon tubes!
